The Column from Cocoon is a monthly opportunity to engage with and hone personal perspectives, and to develop connection with our community via fresh avenues.

With articles published each new moon, it’s an effort to, as David Whyte puts it, “learn to ask fiercer and more exquisitely-pointed questions, questions that reshape our identities and our bodies and our relation to others, even if they do not earn an answer.”

We don’t intend to provide answers; we intend to invite questions, to inspire a more attentive quality of exchange, perhaps to offer the kind of comfort that only comes with resonance, and maybe to sometimes raise an eyebrow or two…

Through philosophy, food, adventure, and chance encounters, we are inspired towards fuller, sometimes-unexpected ways of being; of experiencing the world, and those we share it with. And if our experience is what we agree to attend to, then we want at least to be aware of when we might be making such an agreement, in what state of mind, and for how long we are willing to stand by that deal.

We want to share these explorations with you!

Join us for thought-provoking opinion pieces, glimpses of adventures in Alentejo, updates from the chicken coop, and maybe even a Cocoon kitchen recipe or two (sacred fig training cookies, anyone?!)
